Awards Presented

The 8th CavinKare Ability awards function, which was held at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Chennai, was graced by Shri Mukul Wasnik, Hon Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, who gave away the trophies; Mr N. Murali, Managing Director, The Hindu; Dr Mohini Giri, Chairperson, Guild of Service and Mr Shravan Garg, Group Editor, Bhaskar Group. Mr. C. K. Ranganathan, CMD, CavinKare Pvt Ltd., and Ms. Jayshree Raveendran, Founder &Hon Executive Director, Ability Foundation was also present at the venue.This year’s award winners were selected by Dr. Mohini Giri, Dr V. Krishnamurthy, Mr. Radhamohan, Mr. Shravan Garg and Ms Kanimozhi.There were two categories of awards - CavinKare Ability Award for Eminence and CavinKare Ability Mastery Awards. This year's CavinKare Ability Award for Eminence went to Vedantam Sada Siva Murthy from Palakol, Andhra Pradesh. He has using his artificial limbs for the past 28 years and has adopted his village Abbirajupalem and brought in various developmental projects there.Bajrang Lal Suthar (Momasar, Rajasthan), Puja B. Subramaniam (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) and Zamir Dhale (Ahmedabad, Gujarat) were selected for CavinKare Ability Mastery Awards.
