Vishal Himalayan adventure

Vishal’s press meet to disclose the release date of his forthcoming release Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai at Hotel Green Park, Chennai turned out to be interesting with the star revealing quite a lot of information. The film’s audio and trailer will be launched on December 14th, he said. And TVP will hit the screens for Pongal. Speaking about TVP, Vishal said that the protagonist’s role in the film is in sync with his real life character and this was instrumental in him accepting the role. TVP, according to Vishal, will have all the elements – action, romance and thriller – that one expects in a commercial potboiler. When the reporters asked about his trip to the Himalayas and if he was following the footsteps of Rajinikanth, Vishal said that his tour to the Himalayas was more like an adventure trip and if he intends to meditate he would do so in his home.

Lata Mangeshkar request to Sachin

Bollywood melody queen Lata Mangeshkar had a request for the Indian little master Sachin Tendulkar where she asked the master to continue his service for India for another decade.She wants Sachin to win the 2011 World Cup. Not only that, he should continue as long as he is playing well, hopefully at least for the next 10 years. She also said that she hates people criticizing the little master.Latha also said that it is tough for any cricketer to break his records.She said that we all should support him as much as we can so that he continues for his fans. There is no doubt that every batting record in cricket will be him.Now, I am also requesting Sachin to win 2011 world cup for our India.

APT in Dubai International Film Festival

Moser Baer’s Aval Peyar Tamilarasi is all set to be premiered in the Dubai International Film Festival that is to be held from 9th to 16th December 2009. The film has Jai and Nandagi playing the lead pair and Kanja Karuppu, Rama, Theodre Bhaskaran, Veera Santhanam in important roles. Meera Kathiravan has penned the story and wielded the megaphone as well. Vijay Antony has scored the music. While Raja Mohamed has taken care of the editing work, camera has been handled by PG Muthiah. The selection team, which came to India in September, has seen several films, which are under production in various languages and selected few films for screening/premiering during the festival. Our film, which is going through the post-production has been seen in the double positive mode by the selective team and they were quite impressed with the quality of the film and agreed to revert soon on the selection. We have now received the formal invite from the organizers and happy to attach a copy of the invite… Ms. Suhasini Mani Ratnam, who is coordinating for Tamil films to be a part of the film festivals, played a great role in the selection of films for this festival and the team of APT is thankful to her for this honor.

World Cup 2011 Schedule

International Cricket Council has finally released the schedule for the 2011 World Cup. The 43 day tournament will be hosted by India, Sri-Lanka and Bangladesh.The opening ceremony is will take place at Dhaka on February 17th. India will take on Bangladesh in the opening match. This match is scheduled to be played at Dhaka. Among the three hosts India will host 29 matches, Sri-Lanka will host 12 and Bangladesh gets 8 matches including 2 quarter-finals.Eight cities have chosen from India to host its quota of 29 matches. It includes Mumbai, Mohali, Ahmadabad, Nagpur, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and New Delhi.Semifinals will be played in Mohali and Colombo. And the grand finale is scheduled at Mumbai on April 2.

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada, Kenya.
Group B: India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands.
