CISF in Chennai Airport security

Due to security reasons the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to delegate the security of the outer ring of major airports to the Central Industrial Force (CISF).The area was taken care by the local police thus far and the CISF Chennai region has submitted a proposal in this regard.According to the Home Ministry around 1200 CISF personnel will be deployed outside major airports that come under the hyper-sensitive and sensitive category. Chennai, Pune, Varanasi and Kolkata are termed as hyper sensitive airports.Keeping in mind the Commonwealth Games additional security is to be provided after intelligence reports suggesting terror attacks at the airports.
